The &#8220;longal&#8221; variety, considered indigenous, is found in this region. Most of the harvest is sold in Galicia and in the province of Le\u00f3n, although Portugal and France, where the famous marron glac\u00e9 is made, tend to be final destinations.<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-583 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/turismoenzamora.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/otros_2-259x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"259\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/turismoenzamora.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/otros_2-259x300.jpg 259w, https:\/\/turismoenzamora.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/otros_2.jpg 306w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 259px) 100vw, 259px\" \/><strong>OIL OF ARRIBES<\/strong>The terraced landscape of the Zamoran Arribes and the microclimate of this region that shares a border with Portugal are closely linked to the olive tree.<strong>Oil<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>made from the<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>manzanilla<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;variety&nbsp;<\/strong>is notable for its characteristic&nbsp;<strong>golden-yellow colour<\/strong><strong>,&nbsp;<\/strong>with<strong>&nbsp;clean, shiny, green overtones<\/strong><strong>.&nbsp;<\/strong>It has a strong, fruity aroma with touches of green apple and a robust flavour that is persistent and sweet on the palate.The municipality of Fermoselle has the highest concentration of olive groves, which make the countryside unique in an environment spectacularly marked by the deep narrowing of the river and the original absence of terrazgos, carved over the centuries by human hands.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>LEGUMES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Pardina lentil&nbsp;<\/strong>is grown in the clay soils of<strong>&nbsp;Tierra de Campos and Tierra del Pan<\/strong><strong>.&nbsp;<\/strong>These lentils have a smooth skin and brown colour, indicative of it its name, Pardina, and soft, slightly buttery flesh. The area&#8217;s climate has good conditions to provide adequate humidity for germination during the usual planting period in November, and good bean formation in May, as well as quick and effective drying of the bean in July and August.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Beans from Benavente y Los Valles:&nbsp;<\/strong>the natural region of Benavente y los Valles is where the legume protected by the PGI Alubia de La Ba\u00f1eza-Le\u00f3n is grown.
