Zamora<\/h1>\n

Zamora erhebt sich auf einer Anh\u00f6he mit strategisch g\u00fcnstiger Lage, die im S\u00fcden durch den Fluss Duero verteidigt wird. Mitten auf der Ruta de la Plata (Weg des Silbers) gelegen, war dies der Ort des r\u00f6mischen \u201cOcellum Duri\u201d. Im Mittelalter erlangte die Provinz Zamora einige Bedeutung.<\/p>\n

Im XIII. Jahrhundert besa\u00df die Stadt drei mit Mauern umgebene Bereiche. Davon sind Burg, Festungst\u00fcrme, Tore und Mauerst\u00fccke erhalten, die einen sch\u00f6nen Blick \u00fcber den Duero gew\u00e4hren.<\/p>\n

Die Romanik: Die Provinzhauptstadt besitzt die meisten romanischen Geb\u00e4ude pro Quadratmeter in ganz Europa. Mehr als zwanzig romanische Kirchen sind in der Stadt verstreut, so dass ihr Zentrum zum k\u00fcnstlerisch-historischen Komplex erkl\u00e4rt wurde.<\/p>\n

Die Kathedrale aus dem XII. Jahrhundert besitzt eine Steinkuppel, die von einem Kuppelgew\u00f6lbe gehalten wird, das byzantinische Einfl\u00fcsse aufweist. Von den Originalportalen ist nur die Puerta del Obispo (Bischofsportal) erhalten. Im XII. Jahrhundert wurde ein massiver Turm mit f\u00fcnf Elementen hinzugef\u00fcgt. Im Inneren verdient das Chorgest\u00fchl aus dem XVI. Jahrhundert besondere Beachtung. Das Kathedralenmuseum besitzt eine gro\u00dfartige Sammlung   fl\u00e4mischer Wandteppiche.<\/p>\n

Neben der Kathedrale befindet sich die Burg, die heute das Zentrum zeitgen\u00f6ssischer Kunst Baltasar Lobo beherbergt. Am Fluss befinden sich die Wasserm\u00fchle Olivares aus dem X. Jahrhundert und die Steinbr\u00fccke aus dem XIII. Jahrhundert.<\/p>\n

Die Stra\u00dfen R\u00faa de los Notarios (Notarstra\u00dfe) und R\u00faa de los Francos (Frankenstra\u00dfe) besitzen noch immer den Verlauf des mittelalterlichen Stadtteils, in dem die romanischen Kirchen San Pedro, San Ildefonsound La Magdalena erbaut wurden.<\/p>\n

\"\"Auf der Plaza de Viriato, auf der sich die Skulptur von Eduardo Barr\u00f3n befindet, die dem lusitanischen Sch\u00e4fer Viriato gewidmet ist, steht der Palast Palacio de la Encarnaci\u00f3n, der im XVII. Jahrhundert erbaut wurde, und der Palast der Grafen von Alba und Alist aus dem XV. Jahrhundert, der das Parador-Hotel beherbergt. Auch hier angesiedelt ist das Museum f\u00fcr Ethnografie von Kastilien und Leon.<\/p>\n

Ganz in der N\u00e4he befinden sich die romanischen Kirchen San Cipriano und Santa Mar\u00eda la Nueva, die wiederum nahe des Semana Santa-Museums (Museum der Osterwoche) steht, in dem der gr\u00f6\u00dfte Teil der Skulpturgruppen ausgestellt sind, die w\u00e4hrend der Osterwoche Teil der Prozessionen sind. Ebenfalls besonders zu erw\u00e4hnen ist der Palast von Pu\u00f1oenrostro aus dem XVI. Jahrhundert und Sitz des Museums von Zamora.<\/p>\n

Auf der Plaza Mayor (Hauptplatz) stehen die romanische Kirche San Juan de Puerta Nueva und das alte Rathaus, das 1504 erbaut wurde. Die daneben liegende Stra\u00dfe Balborraz ist eine der malerischsten Stra\u00dfen der Stadt.<\/p>\n

In der Fu\u00dfg\u00e4ngerzone Santa Clara, Haupteinkaufsstra\u00dfe, findet man den gotisch-elisabethanischen ehemaligen Adelspalast Palacio de los Momos und die romanische Kirche Santiago del Burgo.<\/p>\n

Weitere romanische Kirchen stehen im \u201cBarrios Bajos\u201d, dem alten Judenviertel: Santa Mar\u00eda de la Horta und Santo Tom\u00e9, letztere beherbergt die Best\u00e4nde des Museums der Di\u00f6zese.<\/p>\n

Au\u00dferhalb der Stadt befinden sich die Kirchen San Claudio de Olivares, die gro\u00dfartige gemei\u00dfelte Kapitelle aufweisen, und Santiago de los Caballeros.<\/p>\n

Weitere, besonders zu erw\u00e4hnende Kirchen sind San Esteban, San Vicente, San Andr\u00e9s oder San Isidoro.<\/p>\n

Zamora erlebte eine wichtige urbanistische und architektonische Entwicklung ab Mitte des XIX. Jahrhunderts, deren H\u00f6hepunkt die Jugendstilepoche war. Zwischen 1875 und 1930 wurden zahlreiche eklektische und historistische Geb\u00e4ude sowie Geb\u00e4ude mit industriellem Charakter und vor allem viele Jugendstilgeb\u00e4ude errichtet. Der Glanz der Jugendstilgeb\u00e4ude hat es m\u00f6glich gemacht, dass Zamora in die exklusive Gruppe von Gemeinden aufgenommen wurde, die die Europ\u00e4ische Jugendstilstra\u00dfe bilden.<\/p>\n

Heutige Architektur: Es existieren mehrere repr\u00e4sentative Geb\u00e4ude der zeitgen\u00f6ssischen Architektur, die sowohl internationale als auch nationale Auszeichnungen erhalten und dazu beigetragen haben, das in Zamora existierende Kulturerbe zu bereichern: das Museum von Zamora, das Kloster von San Francisco, das Messegel\u00e4nde, das Museum f\u00fcr Ethnografie, der neue Sitz des zamorischen Parlaments und das neue Theater Ramos Carri\u00f3n.<\/p>\n
